Free Government Funded Skills Bootcamps in Bricklaying, Carpentry & Supervision

Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.

For this specific pathway, we at Construction Helpline working with the Greater London Authority (GLA) to provide these Bootcamps to Self-Employed learners across multiple trades, including Bricklaying, Carpentry & Occupational Work Supervision.

These courses are fully funded and are free for all our learners in both in the London / Southeast and Wolverhampton / West Midlands area.

Who is GLA?

GLA (Greater London Authority) is a government body responsible for delivering services within the London area, including adult skills funding - our Skills Bootcamp. We have been able to receive a grant from GLA in order to design and deliver these Skills Bootcamps specifically for high-demand trades within the construction industry.

***Skills Bootcamps began rolling out since August 2020 to out-of-London regions, so even with the GLA stamp we do provide training in the West Midlands region.

The Self-employed Pathway

The self-employed pathway has been created for Level 1 labourers in the construction industry or building trade who are currently working on a self-employed and cannot commit to 6 weeks Mon – Fri. This is to support those that are self-employed at a level 1 labourer level to upskill them to a level 2 skilled worker blue CSCS card or level 3 Gold CSCS card.

The self-employed pathway allows you more flexibility to train during evenings and weekends and the knowledge / theory part of the bootcamps will be delivered remotely allowing you to login via video conferencing software like zoom or Microsoft teams to a live tutor from home and attendance at 4 weekend practical bootcamps.
